    <description>&lt;P&gt;There are often large gaps between transactions using the Terminal and I find that when I do need to use it it can take maybe half a minute to get going. That is very annoying if a customer is in a rush. Is there anythinbg I can do about it. I am using a WiFi connection. The delay seems to be in loading the software.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Thanks for flagging this, that sounds frustrating and not expected.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I'd suggest making sure that your software is as up-to-date as possible, regularly, as if it's not it may lead to lagging.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I'd also suggest doing a factory reset if you don't see any improvement, the steps to reset can be found &lt;A href="https://squareup.com/help/gb/en/article/6537-square-terminal-troubleshooting" target="_blank"&gt;in this article&lt;/A&gt;.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;To manually update your Square Terminal software:&lt;/P&gt;

 &lt;LI&gt;From the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen, tap ≡ &lt;STRONG&gt;More&lt;/STRONG&gt; &amp;gt; &lt;STRONG&gt;Settings&lt;/STRONG&gt; &amp;gt; &lt;STRONG&gt;Hardware&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Tap &lt;STRONG&gt;General&lt;/STRONG&gt; &amp;gt; &lt;STRONG&gt;About Terminal&lt;/STRONG&gt; &amp;gt; &lt;STRONG&gt;Software Update&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Confirm &lt;STRONG&gt;Install Now&lt;/STRONG&gt;.
  &lt;UL&gt;
   &lt;LI&gt;Software updates typically take around 20 minutes to complete but may take up to 1 hour.&lt;/LI&gt;
  &lt;/UL&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/OL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you don’t see the option to update your software, your Square Terminal is up-to-date.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;We recommend leaving your Square Terminal plugged in and powered on overnight for automatic updates to complete.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
