Checkout - Retricted Category

Hi, we are Square Terminal users and have a separate category in the Checkout for alcohol sales. Some staff are not permitted to sell alcohol, so we are trying to find a way to reflect this in Checkout, whether by restricting an item/category or add a permission to an item/category. Thanks for your help.

Hi, @AMV thanks for your post and welcome to the Seller Community.

I had a look at our Custom Permission Sets to see if we have a method of restricting certain employees from selling particular items/categories but it looks like that would be a feature request at the moment.

The workaround I can think of would be to create a designated location for the specific employee and only have items that they are allowed to see available at that location, so for example:

Location A > All items including alcohol > all employees have access except this individual

Location B > All items excluding alcohol > access for the individual

It's definitely longwinded but if you don't have too many items, it may be manageable to set up.
