&lt;P&gt;When cancelling a partially paid invoice, the previously paid amount will not be refunded. Once you confirm the cancellation, both you and the recipient will receive a confirmation email and the invoice will no longer be payable&lt;SPAN style="background-color:rgb(255,255,255);color:rgb(24,24,24);font-size:14px;"&gt;.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;To cancel an unpaid invoice:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;OL&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Sign in to your online Square Dashboard and click &lt;A href="https://squareup.com/dashboard/sales/invoices" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Invoices&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Select the invoice you’d like to cancel.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Click &lt;STRONG&gt;More&lt;/STRONG&gt; &amp;gt; &lt;STRONG&gt;Cancel&lt;/STRONG&gt; &amp;gt; &lt;STRONG&gt;Confirm Cancellation&lt;/STRONG&gt;. For a recurring invoice series, click &lt;STRONG&gt;View Series&lt;/STRONG&gt; &amp;gt; &lt;STRONG&gt;End Series&lt;/STRONG&gt; &amp;gt; &lt;STRONG&gt;Confirm&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have an invoice that was set up with milestones, the deposit was paid but the client is no longer in need of service, so I don’t need the balance paid and don’t want the invoice to sit open or the reminders to be sent, so I want to cancel the invoice, but I’m concerned this will automatically refund the balance that was paid?&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;alternatively I could archive it, but I need to check this will stop the reminders going out?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
