How do I set up a negative price for an item eg set up a coupon offer

I wish to offer a coupon i.e. money off if a type of product is sold with a specific item sold also. this would not be an on-line offer. eg if product x sold and a category y product sold then the coupon would be valid

While it doesn't seem there is a perfect solution just now to make such a discount that automatically applies, you could add a discount which you can then apply to sales as you see fit.
