Variations on item

hopefully somebody can answer this for me regarding variations on items. I will try to be as clear as I can with it

So I’m adding body jewellery sales to my stop website for online orders and collection in Studio and know how to list and of a variations drop down, but what I would like to do is add 3 drop-down boxes for variations.I explain below with an example.

customer has a choice on titanium barbell

1st variation would be 1.2mm , 1.6mm , 2.0mm 2.5mm

So now I want to add a separate variations for bar length and ball size

so a layout as follows

Thickness. Dropdown for selection

Size. Dropdown for selction

ball size. Dropdown for selection

Am I going blind or can I only add 1 dropdown as this seems ridiculous if so.

I know I can add modifiers but they seem to be set as optional and not be set to required by customer And I don’t want be constantly emailing customers asking what options they want on orders
