Hello everyone, I have been looking through the community posts online and I can't understand why we don't have a wireless 2D barcode scanner available for square POS in 2023.

This should be very simple and something that is available, I can't believe I have to do this to find a way around the system.

I have an iPad and a square stand, I sell furniture and I have a barcode and a QR code an all my products, at the moment I have to walk around with my iPad to scan the products the customer wants to buy, the scanner on the iPad works fine, I just don't want to be walking around with a iPad, and have the till empty.

Has anyone tried a wireless 2D barcode scanner, or can someone advise on what I can do, I was looking to get one of these 2 scanners even with the high price.

I'd be happy to help! I had a look at our website and while we don't sell any wireless barcode scanners, we do have a couple that are compatible. My doubt is if they support 2D - I researched both online and found mixed answers. These are the two we can guarantee will work with Square Point of Sale:

@Breffni @kelmah all the sockets can 7 series work with the apps on iOS. So as long as the app understands the QR code then the 740 will pass that information to it.

I think the 740 has the added bonus of being able to be used in an auto stationary mode too if you’re also counter based 👍
