Hi All

Via the Dashboard, I'm trying to tidy our sprawling Item Library by archiving obsolete lines. Previously, we'd removed obsolete items from all locations so that they wouldn't appear on any of the tills.

I'd like to filter my library to show only items that have no locations assigned so that I can quickly identify items that I can archive. However, if I use the location filter and deselect all locations, all items disappear and I get the message 'please select one location'.

Is there a way to achieve what I'm trying to do?

Thanks!

Hi @filletandbone 👋 thanks for your post.

With the filters currently available on the Dashboard, we cannot filter by items that do not have a location assigned. Feel free to share this as a feature request, so our product teams can be aware of the interest.

The only way I can think of doing this is to export a CSV file of your library, and then you'll be able to see which items do not have a location assigned.

To export a copy of your Square Item Library:

Visit Items in your online Square Dashboard.

Click Actions > Export Library > Confirm Export.

Select between Excel (.xlsx) or CSV format. A spreadsheet will then be downloaded to your computer.

Look through 'Location' line.

You can keep your Dashboard open in a different window and search the items you are planning to archive. It's slightly more long-winded but should be able to get you what you need.

Let me know if this works for you!
