&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I've been using the square (about 3.5") reader for years w/o a problem. Love it. Last week, it wouldn't take chip cards. It kept asking me to use my phone, but these were NOT contactless chip cards. It happened each time I tried and finally resorted to keying in the numbers on the back of the card so I wouldn't lose the sale. Please HELP! Do I need a new or different kind of reader?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi ArtOfAloha,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sometimes strange issues pop up - although the Community is NOT Tech Support, it's quite possible your reader has issues.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; You may want to consider contacting Tech Support Direct via your Account Dashboard for assistance (best option).&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Depending on the age of your reader, Square may replace it as per the warranty, else you may want to consider a replacement.&amp;nbsp; From experience, I don't think you need a different kind of reader, maybe just a new one - but that is only my guess.&amp;nbsp; Perhaps others here have some different thoughts.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
