How to run a promotion?

Hey all, I’d like to run a cake and coffee promotion on my terminal, but not sure how to set it up. Basically, a coffee has a rename of prices dependant on choice (so variable pricing) and the cake price is set to £2.75. The overall cost is always more than £5. I would like the promotion to run for £4.95 when any 2 of these items are selected within the sale.

Please can anyone help me create this promotion?

I can think of two ways to create your coffee & cake promotion.

Utilise our Bundle feature

This tool is available with Square for Retail Plus/Premium or Square Online Plus. Note that you would need to create a separate bundle for each coffee variation (eg. Long Black + Cake Bundle, Flat White + Cake Bundle).

To create a bundle, log in to your Square Dashboard :

Access Items & orders > Items > Item library.
Click Create item.
Click Sell as a bundle > Select components.
Check the box next to each item you want to include as components of your bundle.
Click Select components.
If applicable, add a SKU or GTIN.
Add the bundle Price.
Click Save.

Create an automatic discount

Because you have variable pricing for coffee, you would need to create an automatic discount for each variation. To do so:

Visit Items > Discounts in your online Square Dashboard.
Click Create a Discount.
Enter the discount details – including the discount name, amount (either percentage or pound amount) and applicable locations.
Toggle Discount Rules on if you want to automatically apply the discount to a specific criteria.
When you’re all set, click Save.
