Setting up Square for Restaurants

We've used Square Point of Sale for some years and want to start to also use Square for Restaurants for our cafe.

Square advised we create a new location which we have. When we sign into the Square Register for the cafe though it comes up as Point of Sale, not Restaurants.

How to we set the cafe location to use Square for Restaurants rather than Point of Sale on Square Register?

Any advice would be much appreciated

A lot of the Restaurants software settings and features are actually managed from the Dashboard, so I'd first suggest creating a device code:

Sign in to Square Dashboard and select Settings > Device management.
Select Points of sale > POS devices.
Select Add a point of sale.
Enter a Nickname and select the Location for the device.
Select Restaurants POS as the device type and select your service style.
Select your preferred point of sale settings.
Once you select all of your settings, click Create.

You can then log in to Restaurants on the Register using the code instead of your credentials:

Tap Sign in.
Tap Use a device code and enter the device code you created.
Tap Sign in.
