Hi All,

We Run a bike repair business and are struggling to find a good piece of service based software. We use square form payments and its great , we find inventory and also job cards are hard to manage.

Eg

Customer drops bike off - We create a manual paper work

Customer bike gets quoted - We write on the manual paper work

We create an estimate on Square - Approved or Not

Creates an Invoice when work is completed.

This is for jobs over $100

Under $100 we mostly do a normal Transaction in the Square Terminal .

Do any of you guys have a service business and run different organisational software to manage inventory and repairs ??

2 big issues are inventory and repair schedule/job cards

1 We need to monitor our inventory more exact and our parts are very unique , and always different.

2 To look at service history we have to look at old invoices , and it isn't clear on what bike by what customer was worked on etc , making it hard to do follow up repairs with out a-lot of double handling. And For scheduling we cannot rely on the appointments in Square as lot of our jobs are bespoke , and we cannot seem to work out a good workflow of booking in jobs for future repairs.

What software do you guys run that link to square for repair management.

Hey @velotecsports,

While I don't have any recommendations to make here based on experience, I can suggest checking out some of the 3rd party integrations that link to Square for the inventory management side of things. For service tracking I can also suggest checking out simPRO.

Hope this at least gives a few ideas of apps to look into, let us know if you find anything particularity useful so we can share with other sellers!

I would be interested in talking or assisting Square to bring these features to light in Square,

I feel there is a lot of users who could benefit here, happy to be part of testing and also assist with functionality

While I'm not sure if these sorts of specific features are on our product road map at the moment, if you're interested in trialing new Square products you could check out our Beta Program. This is currently the best place to go to keep abreast of and trial new Square features as they come to market in Australia 👍

Is there any other avenues to explore via square. Before we find another payment solution to suit us.

It seems its easier to find other repair software that will work and square is no longer required than to find a repair software to match up with square.

It's definitely up to you to find the best products and apps to suit your business!

Square offers a card payment platform and a range of other associated products to help run your business, however repair scheduling software isn't a service we currently provide. You'll likely find that most apps that do perform this sort of function would feature 3rd party payment integrations - I'm not aware of any payment providers who also build the sort of product you're looking for in-house!
