How to do a DNS verification on the free square.site for facebook

Hi all,

I have been trying to do instagram shopping however it keeps failing because I cannont verify my 'square.site'

As well as this, facebook is trying to veryify a '.weebly.com' site-does this matter?? should it be the same??

I am using the free version of the site.

Also weebly keeps taking me to my own domain name that I have registrered with then, '.com' domain. I can do the DNS verification of this website but it is not the one I need!!

Any suggestions would be helpful...

Hi @ejules67,

You should not have to do any DNS verification to link Square Online with Facebook and Instagram. We link up to them using the Facebook Pixel.

This article should be able to walk you through the steps to get it working.

Hi Boris,

The system is stuck on verifying my website...

I have attached facebook and have a pixel ID already. I have the shop on facebook live now and can sell directly from facebook...but not instagram which is what I want.

I am stuck now though as it wants me to verify my website domain which I thought was name.square.site but facebook has it as name.weebly.com and I cannot change that...

Hi @ejules67,

It looks like your Facebook account is linking to a completely different Weebly site. I would suggest giving our support team a call so they can look on the back end of the account and try and assist from there.

If they are not able to resolve it over the phone, they will be able to gather some information to then potentially escalate higher up.

Hi Boris, I am having a similar problem with Instagram wanting a site verification and as above showing that Instagram is not setup for shopping. BUT I have the correct web address showing in the tab. everything is correct in Instagram and Facebook and all published etc.

so when I got to select the Instagram account it is grayed out and wont allow me to select.

Any ideas would be a great help.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble getting this set up!

We do have limited capacity to troubleshoot Instagram / Facebook integrations, however per Boris' message above, your first port of call here is to get in touch with support on 1800 760 137 (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm Melbourne time) or email via this form. They'll be able to escalate the case to Weebly if required from there.

@ejules67 did you have any luck here at all?
