&lt;P&gt;Unfortunately there's no getting around this one - that message is a generic error covering anything internal issues that may render the reader unusable.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;You can replace the reader under warranty though by logging into your Square account and going through the &lt;A href="https://squareup.com/login?return_to=/shop/hardware/au/en/return/warranty" target="_blank"&gt;warranty flow&lt;/A&gt;.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi All,&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;my reader has had little use. Just tried to test it and am getting the message This Reader is Permanently Disabled. Anyway around this?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thank you&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Don.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
