USB-C based Square stand

Are there any plans for a USB-C based Square stand? With apple moving to USB-C on all its devices, are there any plans for a Square Stand that supports USB-C? This could also be used to support Android devices, most of which are already USB-C.

Thanks for getting back in touch! This is a great question.

While I can't speak on plans for future Square Stands, we have made changes to the Stand in the past, and I would be surprised if we didn't keep adapting it going forward. When iPads changed from 9.7" to 10.2", for example, we released a stand to fit the updated dimensions.

Would a USB-C based Stand work with Android devices? As Android tablets come in a wider variety of sizes, and there might be different requirements for Android's OS, it's hard to say if a USB-C Stand for iPads would also be compatible with an Android tablet.

Hi there, I bought the newer Ipad to have the storage and cell capability to use my Ipad & square at markets. Now I am opening a small retail outlet and come to find that I am unable to buy the stand for the Ipad due to it having a USB-C connection. I am not able to afford to buy another Ipad which would have to be an older model to work with your stand. I think, given that all Ipads now come with a USB-C connection, and I bought mine 2 years ago, it should be top of your list to make a compatible stand so that it looks a bit more professional to my customers than holding my Ipad while serving. Hopefully soon…fingers crossed.

Thanks Arie, with so many new companies getting into this space it would be a shame for Square to be left behind, As I have said the newer models have been out now for nearly two years and all the pro models are a USB-C, so there is no excuse for Square not to be working on this.
