How much are the fees for Amex payments from invoices please? Is it just once off 2.2pc?

How much please are the fees for AMEX payments if my invoice is paid via AMEX? Is is 2.2pc or are there two fees - one for me and one for the person paying by Amex?

Thanks for writing in and asking this question about fees. I noticed it's your first post, so welcome to our community 🙂

The fee for Invoice payments is 2.2% for AMEX, Visa, and Mastercards. We don't have different fees for different card types, but rather have different fees based on how the payment is taken. For manually entered payments, Invoices, and payments made via Checkout Links, or a Square Online Store, a fee of 2.2% applies. Fees are automatically deducted before we transfer funds to you and there are no fees from Square to your customer. Learn more about fees here.

My clients paying amex are getting charged a fee is that normal its from the square device but if we process via desktop do the fees not get charged ive never had this complaint ?

The client is saying there getting a charge on there end when we process out invoice amount we do not charge the client fees ?

Square doesn't pass on any fees to your clients, @Sarah13, instead, the transaction fee is deducted from the transfers we send you. If your customers are using international credit, or debit cards it's possible that their bank is charging them a conversion fee, or international transaction fee. If that's the case, your customers should reach out to their bank or credit card provider directly for clarification.
