Hello, my oppo ax7 was working with the square tap device. Now it says device not supported. I can still manually enter payments into the app. I have force stopped the app, restarted, updated and reinstalled the app. No joy!

Hi @Jo131,

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you're having trouble connecting your reader!

At the moment most Oppo phones are unfortunately not supported by Square - it looks like the ax7 is not tested as compatible with Square readers.

You may find untested Oppo devices will sometimes work with Square if they meet certain Android operating requirements - however we can't guarantee any Oppo device will work on an ongoing basis with Square as we continually update the firmware and security in our readers, and as Oppo continue to release updates to their firmware. It looks like this may have occurred in your case.

Sorry we couldn't be of more help here! You can view devices tested as compatible with Square here.

So Seamus is there any way you can get the OPPO continually supported as this is also my dilemma and makes having the card reader pointless.

Hey @Limed_up 👋

I noticed it's your first post, welcome to our community!

We're striving to support as many devices as possible, but with hundreds of new devices being released every year we're not always able to test them all. Check out the compatibility list to check out which devices are currently supported - I certainly hope more Oppo phones will be included in the future as they're getting more popular.
