&lt;P&gt;Just to confirm you are trying to connect a Square Reader to a mobile device?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;First lets double check you are connecting to a &lt;A href="https://squareup.com/au/en/compatibility" target="_blank"&gt;supported device&lt;/A&gt;.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;If you see the message that&amp;nbsp;&lt;EM&gt;Developer options are not supported&lt;/EM&gt;, please turn off the developer options within your device before running through the troubleshooting steps. To turn off developer options:&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;OL&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;Navigate to&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Settings&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;section of your&amp;nbsp;&lt;U&gt;device&lt;/U&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Developer Options&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;Toggle&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Developer Options&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;off.&lt;/LI&gt;

&lt;P&gt;If you can’t see the Developer Options menu:&lt;/P&gt;

 &lt;LI&gt;Tap&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;About Device&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;Tap&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Build Number&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;7 times &amp;gt; you will see a prompt on the screen indicating developer options are enabled&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;Tap the back arrow to navigate back to&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Settings&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;Tap&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Developer Options&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;gt; toggle&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Developer Options&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;OFF.&lt;/LI&gt;

&lt;P&gt;If you are using a Huawei device, you can also try:&lt;/P&gt;

 &lt;LI&gt;Go to the&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Settings&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;of your Huawei device&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;Tap on&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;More Settings&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/LI&gt; 
 &lt;LI&gt;Disable the button&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Allow Hisuite to use HDB&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;

&lt;P&gt;After these steps you can try the try&amp;nbsp;the&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://squareup.com/help/au/en/article/5673-square-contactless-and-chip-card-reader-troubleshooting" target="_blank"&gt;troubleshooting steps&amp;nbsp;outlined here&lt;/A&gt;.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;These steps usually help getting the Reader connected (as long as your device is compatible), if it doesn't work the first time - usually waiting 30 mins and trying again will do the trick.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
