Our square card reader is not accepting the mastercard from Comm Bank, how to fix this issue?

I noticed it's your first post, welcome to our community 👋

You can accept any Australian-issued and most international chip cards or magstripe cards with a Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and JCB logo. Square also supports mobile wallets such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay, and bank-issued eftpos chip cards. If you're seeing a card declining, it's a good idea for your customer to check that they have sufficient funds in their bank account, or contact their bank directly to see why their payments are getting declined.

We are seeing this over the weekend - CBA Mastercard not working via the Square reader - but DOES work via tapping directly on an iPhone. Have raised it with support but so far they are stumped. Do you know if you reader is 1st or 2nd Gen?
