    <description>&lt;P&gt;I have just bought a Square Terminal and it is successfully taking payments when I use the iPad as the checkout. How do I get to the checkout screen on the Terminal itself? I can swipe for the menu, but when I click Checkout it goes to a black 'Powered by Square' screen. Surely I can see my checkout from the Terminal screen itself?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;If you are using Square Terminal as a payment device linked to an iPad, I do believe you will not be able to use the Terminal to initiate checkout - the Terminal essentially becomes a seperate payment device connected to your main POS device. There is some further into about &lt;A href="https://squareup.com/help/au/en/article/7428-connect-your-square-terminal-to-spos" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;how things work here&lt;/A&gt;. This article mentions:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;"Once you connect your Square Terminal to a compatible device, it will stay on a “Powered by Square” screen. From there, you’ll be able to change your settings and access support resources."&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This to me reads that the functionality of the terminal is limited to settings/support while it's connected to a POS on another device. I would say there is likely a technical limitation at play here. You can use the Terminal as an independent payment device to checkout, or use it as a connected payment device to checkout an iPad/tablet - but not both at the same time.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
