Unfortunately I believe currently, the 'connect' feature is only supported on square point of sale (or the virtual terminal)...

The Square Terminal connect function is not yet supported on Square for Restaurants, Square for Retail, Square Invoices and Square Appointments apps. Should we expand this option to other apps in future, we'll be sure to share this news via an announcement.

In the meantime, you can learn more about connecting your Square Terminal to Square Point of Sale or Virtual Terminal.
