Weebly error "Payments are not enabled for this site."

Trying to get an online retail store up and running, and on our published site whenever clicking 'Add to cart' or 'Buy now' we receive a "Payments are not enabled for this site." error message pop-up.

This error is discussed in other posts but no fix has worked so far. SSL certificates are enabled for the site, Stripe is apparently successfully connected, and we are on a Personal plan currently.

Any help would be appreciated 🙂

I noticed it's your first post, welcome to our community 👋

It looks like you still need to go through the identity verification step in order to activate card payment processing on your site. Log into your Dashboard and click through the setup guide in the top right-hand corner. Please let us know how you go!

Thanks for the reply! I did miss that step. I've now gone and completed the account setup steps with Square (except for ordering hardware and setting up Square Online, as we don't need them). But our Weebly store still presents with the error "Payments are not enabled for this site" after clicking 'Add to cart'.

Are there any other steps that will resolve it? Thanks in advance.

Have you had a chance to disconnect, and reconnecting Square as a payment gateway on your Weebly site yet? Is the SSL on the site enabled? Feel free to send us a link to your website so we can take a look as well.

Thanks @Arie,

We are using Stripe rather than Square for the payment gateway. It has the green 'connected' text beside it, and we have successfully used it as a payment gateway before.

The SSL is enabled. I've tried disabling it, re-enabling it, republishing the website, but no resolution from that.

I've just switched from Stripe to Square as the payment gateway and it seems to have resolved the issue. Thanks!

If you're still wanting to use Stripe as a payment processor, it would also be worth checking that your Stripe account is ready to accept payments with their support team - Stripe accounts aren't something I can check from my end, unfortunately, @RFNic. Either way, it's good to hear you've been able to connect your Square account for payments for now 🙂

Hello, I have the same problem with my Weebly e-commerce: when a client clicks 'Add to cart' or 'Buy now' he receives a "Payments are not enabled for this site." error message pop-up.

I saw that I can only use Stripe as payment gateway in the "Checkout" section because I don't see that I can also set up Square for payments.
Can anyone help me? Thank you

Hi, I have a same problem with my Weebly site when clicks "Add to Order" or 'Buy now' there's an error of "Payments are not enabled for this site."

Even I had done all the setup and connected to my stripe account.
