How can i see if a payment was card or cash in reports for a category?

To see whether a payment was made by card or cash for a specific category in your reports, follow these steps:

1. Go to your Square Dashboard at squareup.com/dashboard.

2. Navigate to Reports > Sales Summary or Item Sales depending on how you want to break down the data.
3. Use the filters at the top to:

Set the date range you're interested in.
Select the option to display by payment type (under "Display by").

Select a specific category (under "Filter By", select "Item Category").
4. Once you have selected "Item Category", you will see a new filter option appear called "All Item Categories", or you can select individual item categories from within this filter option.

5. Scroll down or export the report to view the payment type breakdown — this will show totals by method (e.g. card, cash, other).

If you want to get even more detailed:

1. Head to Payments & invoices > Transactions, where you can view individual payments.

2. Each transaction will list the payment method used.
