Square Invoice QR Code and Pay Link printed on PDF version but not working

When I print the PDF version of an invoice it has the QR code and payment link at the bottom. I like that its their and that my customers can use it. However, when its scanned and/or the link is used, it just directs to the Square invoices "homepage". Why does it not send them to a payment page like if I sent them a payment link manually?

Could you walk me through how you create the QR code for you invoice payment? I want to make sure there isn't is disconnect on the process.
