How to add digital signatures to invoices

How do I get customers signatures on the invoice before sending them? I saw "check and sign" mentioned on a thread, but don't know how to activate that. And looking at other posts it doesn't seem like an option.

Hey there @JWu. I can’t speak to the “check and sign” thread you think you found unless you provide a link to it so I can review what it referred to. However, I might have a solution for you, assuming you are an Invoices Plus subscriber.

From your online dashboard, go to Invoices > Settings > Invoices. Click on the default template (assuming that is the one you are using), then click the “Edit” button at the bottom. Scroll to the bottom and expand “Attachments and custom fields.” Then, click the “Add” button beside Custom fields. While it won’t be a true signature, you can create a field title called something like “Authorized Signature,” then in the field text add whatever you want to be the name of the person authorizing this invoice. Then save it all.

Once you do this, this field will be added to all invoices you create in the future.

Hopefully, that helps you. If you want a true signature, you’ll probably need to head over to the Ideate Board and submit a feature request to the Invoices Team for them to evaluate.

Hey JWu, Square might not have e-signatures yet, but you could try services like DocuSign or Adobe Sign to send your invoices and get them signed electronically. Just an option! If you need drain field installation near me, let me know and I can help you find a local professional

@eric_blanco Your post made me realized I missed something important the first time I read @JWu‘s question. So, @JWu PLEASE IGNORE MY FIRST REPLY. @eric_blanco has the better solution for you. However, if you want Square to consider adding a new feature, you should still submit a feature request. Sorry for the misinformation the first time around!
