Hey @serena63. You can deactivate a Square account by going to your dashboard main menu > Account & Settings > My business > About. At the bottom is a button “Deactiate your business.

Before you do that, though, I’m wondering why you want to do this? I ask because, for example, if you have Square Payroll you will run into big issues trying to use the same EIN on a new account. Anyway, if there is something you need help with that we could remove the need for closing and reopening, let’s try that first. Otherwise, there may be more headaches in your future.
