@eileenk1 I am assuming you aren't taking the whole register out to take a payment. You can use the app on your phone and download the invoices app to take those payments like you would any other payment. You must have the permissions and ability to look at invoices or you won't be able to do that. If it is the terminal you are using, you will just have to hotspot the terminal to use it. Otherwise, the reader has to be paired with a device with internet access. I don't recommend manually entering credit cards ever if you have the option to dip or tap.

You're able to send invoices from your mobile Square app or Square Register. As long as you're signed into the same account on both devices, you can track the invoice. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please let me know—make sure to tag me so I can see your reply.

Send Invoice from Square Dashboard:

Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Payments > Invoices > Invoices.
You can create single, batch, or recurring invoices in two ways:
- From the Overview page, click Send an invoice.
- From the Invoices page, click Create invoice.
Add a new or existing customer to the sale. You can enter up to nine recipients.
Enter detailed invoice details.
Optional: Add a message to the customer.
Select the invoice frequency—one-time or recurring.
- For One-time, enter the due date and optional service date.
- For Recurring, enter the recurring schedule to include the start date, each invoice due date, recurring frequency, repeating number, or end date.
- For recurring, you can also Allow automatic payments with card on file.
Move on to Step 2: Line items below.

Square Point of Sale app:

From your compatible device, tap ≡ More > Invoices > (+).
Add a new or existing customer to the sale, and any additional recipients if applicable.
Move on to Step 2: Line items below.
