Is there a way to sell service packages via invoice? If not, can we have that ability?

I'm a Massage Therapist and have created some packages to sell to clients.

I'm trying to figure out how to be able to add a massage package to an invoice. Is there a way?

If not, why not?

p.s. I know you can create a "payment link", however, that creates a few problems for me!

1) Payment links automatically collect the sales taxes as an exclusion (regardless of whether the services selected within the package have the sales taxes included in the price.)

2) Service packages sold via payment links are treated as "physical items" and require service packages to either be "picked up" or "delivered", which is annoying, because a massage service package is non-physical item.

Unless someone knows about a setting I don't??

Currently, selling service packages via invoice may not be supported by default, depending on the platform or software you're using. However, many systems allow custom invoice creation or integration with third-party tools like QuickBooks or Stripe, which can enable this feature. If it’s not available, it would be beneficial to request this functionality from the provider, as it would allow more flexible billing for clients preferring invoiced services..

I went ahead and merged your two posts about this topic together. I also want to make sure you've seen our Seller Community Code of Conduct. We ask Seller Community Members to not post the same message in multiple places, as it is not productive for our Moderators.

Now that we have that out of the way, I'm not seeing an option to add Packages to Invoices either. I'll have to reach out to the Packages Product Team, regarding the questions you've asked about Invoices and Payment Links. I'll follow up with you here, once I gather more info!

Hi there!

I recommend using a payment link and setting the option to "Take a payment" which would not trigger the pick up or delivery settings.

I don't recommend creating the link from the Item Library instead go to https://app.squareup.com/dashboard/payment-links

The issue with using the "Take a Payment" option, is that there is no way to assign a Service or Package.

Packages are a new application in which when sold, and processed via Square Appointments, Square tracks the packages at check-out and does this nifty accounting in which it "zeroes" out the transaction when the merchant or the client/customer selects the appropriate service for redemption.

The "take a payment" option is better suited for less complex and complicated transactions.

That might be case. However, I'm on a very limited budget and already pay Square for Square Appointments.

The new Package application was a long overdue addition to the tools Square provides and I'm holding out for an "in house" resolution because Square Appointments designed a wonderful way to track package usage as long as you process the transactions via Square's in-house tools.

I'm having a similar issue, and as far as I can tell at this time there doesn't seem to be a way to add a Package to an Invoice. A workaround I am trying with one of my clients is manually adding the number of appointments at full price to the invoice and then adding a discount to adjust the service price to match that of what the package is supposed to be, though I am a little bit worried that the system isn't going to let me apply the services that were paid for in advance to the appointments in my calendar.
