&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If your Square Terminal won’t power on, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P data-start="99" data-end="130"&gt;Charge the Device&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL data-start="131" data-end="441"&gt;
&lt;LI data-start="131" data-end="229"&gt;Plug the Square Terminal into a power outlet using the included power adapter and cable.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI data-start="230" data-end="350"&gt;Wait at least 15-30 minutes, especially if it’s the first time powering on, it may have arrived completely drained.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI data-start="351" data-end="441"&gt;Make sure the charging cable is firmly connected to both the adapter and the device.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;
&lt;P data-start="448" data-end="481"&gt;Try a Force Restart&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL data-start="482" data-end="694"&gt;
&lt;LI data-start="482" data-end="573"&gt;Hold the power button (on the left side of the Terminal) for at least 12 seconds.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI data-start="574" data-end="694"&gt;If the screen stays black, keep holding a few seconds longer, sometimes the reboot takes a moment if it’s unresponsive.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;
&lt;P data-start="701" data-end="737"&gt;Look for Signs of Life&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL data-start="738" data-end="968"&gt;
&lt;LI data-start="738" data-end="885"&gt;Even if the screen stays black, see if you can feel any vibration, sound, or if the screen lights up dimly, it may be charging slowly.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI data-start="886" data-end="968"&gt;Try a different power outlet, and avoid power strips during troubleshooting.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;
&lt;P data-start="975" data-end="1009"&gt;Inspect the Hardware&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL data-start="1010" data-end="1201"&gt;
&lt;LI data-start="1010" data-end="1075"&gt;Check for any visible damage to the screen, port, or cable.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI data-start="1076" data-end="1201"&gt;Make sure the charging cable is the official Square USB-C power adapter (3rd party ones sometimes don’t work properly).&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you’ve tried all of the above and the Square Terminal is still unresponsive, it may be:&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have the same problem I have two of these devices and one works.&amp;nbsp; The other one does not come on.&amp;nbsp; I left it on the charger for hours Then tried holding on the power button for up to about 30 seconds at times.&amp;nbsp; No power, no sound, no vibration.&amp;nbsp; I've tried multiple charging cables and no response.&amp;nbsp; I'm out of options at this point.&amp;nbsp; This device was purchased in October 2025 (5 months ago).&amp;nbsp; How can I get some assistance?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
