Self serve ordering on POS?

We have purchased Square POS for use in our small farm store. Until now, folks purchased out of the store on the honor system, leaving a check in the basket as we're often out on the farm and not in the store. I have set up the self serve ordering so that customers can scan the QR code and pay with their phone, but I'm wondering if it is possible to stick that order page that comes up with the QR code to the home page of iPad? As far as I can see, if we were to use the iPad then the only option is to use the POS system. This would involve having to log in, and customers would then have access to everything on the ipad. I'd just like to replicate the QR code page on the iPad. Am I missing something??

There are several apps in the square app market that might do what you're looking for. It wouldn't necessarily prevent them from going into other things on the iPad, I haven't used these myself, but it would prevent them from getting into your full square pos system.

A quick search in the app market for "kiosk" turned up several. I noticed KYOO has a free option and it might be something for you to look into. They charge $0.25 per transaction for their services. You could add that cost to the customer.

Have you considered using the online store and have the iPad, or a computer, to allow them to create their own order and then pay through the online store? You wouldn't be able to accept cash or check payments this way, but I assume a lot of people pay by card anyway.

You could even set up a qr code that takes them to your online store on your phone and they could order there.
