My business partner and I are sharing a booth at a live event. She will not be there.

I am using my square reader and my phone - for sales of my products.

Can I use her square reader on my phone - for sales of her products?

The readers are completely independent of your accounts. Technically, you’ll only need one reader for your event if you’re using only one phone.

however, there is a catch. You are only able to be logged into one account at a time per device. If you’re wanting to sell your friends products, you’ll have to log out of your account and log into hers.

For ease of use, it may be beneficial to create a category on your (or her) account specific to the others sales and either have a miscellaneous price item or an item list of the others products. That way you’re not logging out and back in all the time. At the end of the day, you can pull a category report and see how much is owed the other person. Just remember that those weren’t your sales when you go to do your taxes later on!
