Wrong credit card on receipt when using Apple Pay

Help. A client had a problem with Apple Pay so I was testing it myself. I sent myself via text a payment link. I opened the payment link and chose Apple Pay. The Apple Pay screen popped up and it clearly shows card ending 1477 (this is correct). I chose pay with passcode, entered my pass code and completed the transaction. I then went back in and refunded the transaction. Both transactions show credit card ending in 3638, not my credit card ending in 1477. I went into my Apple Pay to make sure that is the only card I have on file and it is. What’s happening here?

Apple uses a dynamic security number with ApplePay. Your real number is not used for security reason. Here is a copy and paste from Apples Discussions about it.

That's the dynamic security code. It's a security feature - your actual credit/debit card number isn't used; the dynamic security code is used in its placed when making transactions. If hackers breach a payment terminal/database and got your credit card number, in reality they would just get the one-time dynamic security code which would be useless to them.

I was just going to say the same thing!
I refer to it as my stealth card number!
but I will say it didn’t take me a little while to realize what was happening! It’s pretty cool that apple does that extra line of security!
