Can I keep drawer open while switching locations

Hello! I am hoping to find a way to switch between locations while keeping my cash drawer open. I run two locations simultaneously (wine bar/wine shop). Is this possible with one device?

@Winebar There are two possible answers to this question, which means that I unfortunately have to answer your question with a question.

Does each location have its own separate drawer insert of cash? In other words, if you switch locations do you also switch cash drawer inserts and therefore keep your cash separate for each location?

If so, then the act of switching locations will leave the first location’s drawer in the POS as it is. Cash rung in while in the second location will apply to the second location’s POS drawer. Then when you switch back (and switch out the cash inserts) cash sales rung in under the first location will apply to the first location’s POS drawer. At the end of the day, as long as your employees have faithfully also switched cash drawer inserts when they switched locations, both drawers’ counts should be spot on.

If, on the other hand, you are sharing a physical cash insert between both locations (ie — using the same cash for both operations) then you’ll have to merge their closing cash drawer reports to figure out if your cash is in balance.

That probably brings up more questions, which I’m happy to clarify.
