For Quick Service and Cafes: How do you use variations and modifiers

Hi all!

I'm Ji-Won from Gamsa.IO, we are a self-service kiosk software that integrates with Square. What distinguishes us from other square kiosk partnerships is the hardware (21 inch and 27 inch kiosks)!

Anyway, we would really appreciate the input of quick service and cafe sellers on how you use item variations and modifiers. Do you limit item variations to sizes (i.e coffee cup size -small, med, lg). For items with one variation, the variation defaults to "regular"? Are modifiers used for all other options (i.e. milk, ice level, syrup)?

If you can share your experience and any unique ways you've used variations and modifiers, it would help us tremendously in building the seamless menu transfer from Square to our kiosk!
