We do exactly what you are doing and have no problem with the gift card liability balance in QuickBooks.

We do not use automated QuickBooks integration, as we found that to be unreliable.

We use the daily square summary report and enter those numbers directly to QuickBooks.

We use Square for Retail POS. We want to start issuing a store credit, in the form of gift cards, when refunding transaction. While we can do it from Square POS with ease, we use Quickbooks for accounting. Unfortunately, when we refund an amount to a gift card, it does not add to our gift card liability, as it does when we "issue" a gift card.

We can do a 100% discount on a gift card, but we still want to TRACK the refund in our system. Does anyone use Quickbooks and has found a solution that works? Any app integrations?

Thanks,

Andrew
