If the software is already up to date or if a software update does not resolve the issue, I then recommend that you follow the instructions listed here to perform a &lt;A href="https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/6180-square-register-troubleshooting#:~:text=Offline%20Mode.-,Reset%20your%20Register,-On%20rare%20occasions" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;factory reset&lt;/A&gt; on your Register.&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>SKU doesn't get added to transaction automatically. Why not?!?</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am using a barcode scanner with Square register and when I scan an item it fills the search field with the barcode, which brings up item. But then I have to select the item to add it to the transaction, then clear the field so I scan another item. That means three operations - scan, select and clear - for each item in a transaction, which is, frankly, a major pain.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It can cause errors like selecting something twice, or not selecting it, which can cause errors in the transaction. It really seems like the app should do this automatically. I want to scan, have it add to the transaction automatically, then scan another item. Any ideas, anyone?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Sounds like a setting in the scanner. There are several ways to set one up. The scanner can be programmed to add an enter or other needs. Check your documentation.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
