What services can Afterpay be used for

I own a beauty salon offering lash and permanent makeup (cosmetic tattoo) services. I had no issue setting up Afterpay but Ive read several times in different places that After pay isn't eligible for services. Im nervous to do a brow tattoo and then when I go to check out it gets declined.

Hi @RADBeauty. This is a quote from one Square help document on Afterpay. Services seem to be eligible.

“Your Square hardware—including Square Register, Square Terminal, Square Standand Square Reader for contactless and chip—will allow customers to pay for in-person goods and services using their Afterpay Card via digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.”

Having said that, some services are not eligible and some sellers are not. According to Square help, as long as your dashboard did not say you were ineligible, then you are eligible.

Still I’d recommend making yourself familiar with the Afterpay help section here.

My best guess is that some sellers prefer not to have their customers use Afterpay for services because those can’t be returned in the event of Dispute. Maybe they’ve had bad experiences with scam artists. Trust me, nothing would surprise me where people are concerned. Lol
