Kitchen Display for Orders Days Ahead

Hi there,

We have a restaurant with very specific needs when it comes to kitchen displays, I have been looking for a solution for a while now but I can't get to find it, so here I'm asking for help.

The situation:

We are a bakery that offers catering orders, so far the Square KDS has been amazing for regular orders, but the "catering" orders are made in advance, sometimes weeks ahead. My goal was to have everything connected, so we eliminate paper as much as possible. But at the moment it would be impossible to organize the orders in order of delivery instead of time of arrival. So I need a KDS or OMS that receives the order from square and make it possible to organize by delivery date instead of receiving date. Any ideas if this even exist?

Hi @BBCafe1. I’d recommend that you look at FreshKDS. It is fully integrated with Square POS and until Square offered their own KDS it was the only game in town! One of their features is defined as follows:

Automatic Order Holds

Automatically place future orders on hold until their set pickup time to avoid clutter and optimize your kitchen workflow.

I think this will get you to where you want to be with a fully-functional third-party KDS that, frankly, is one of the best on the market.
