How do I get a card reader?

I set up a website through square. It seems to set up an account with a card reader I just have to set up a new account???? Why can’t I set that up through my existing account?

Sorry, but we need to clarify a few things, else we just have to guess ....

If you setup a Square Website, you already have a Square Account and you don't need to setup a new account in order to take advantage of the Free Magstripe Reader offer. You can order one through your Square Account Dashboard - additional details are here along with other options. You should also download Square's POS App for your smart device so you can use the Reader. There is something very important to keep in mind if you ONLY plan to use a Magstripe Reader. Suggest reading this info. The Magstripe Reader is "great" for starting out however, down the road you may want to consider Square's Contactless and Chip Reader.

After setting up an account, you have to request a reader for credit cards, it isn't automatically sent to you:. Go to your Square Dashboard here:

https://squareup.com/us/en/hardware/reader

The plug-in readers (lightening connector/jack) are free. All other hardware you have to pay for. I do have an extra contactless/chip reader that can connect to your phone bluetooth. If you message me your info I can send you one.
