Report on Inventory Changes by Reason

I have a shop where items expire and when this happens, I remove them from inventory (Manage Stock) with the reason of Loss.

I now would like to see a report of these stock changes by reason but cant find one.

Any ideas?

Thanks for being a member of the Community.

You can view what we call stock adjustments directly from your Square Dashboard.

Log in to your online Square Dashboard and go to Items & orders > Items > Inventory management > History.
Select a date range, location(s), and adjustment type from the dropdown menus to filter your search. You also have the option to narrow your search by product using the search field to the right.
Click on an event to see who made the adjustment, what it cost, and which locations were affected.

Hi @RobynR -- Thanks for that! This does show the changes in inventory and helps however maybe I need to rethink what I am looking for though.

In my case, I am looking for a way to see on a more global level what products are more often expiring before they are selling --- or, in other words, what items are marked as a 'loss' on a more frequent basis. Something with a graphic of some sort (or top 10) of totals of 'loss' per item/category/whatever over a period of time.

Does this make sense? Do you have any thoughts or suggestions of how to accomplish this?

Or if this is not an option, is there any way to export this data in order to sort and create the graphics/data myself?

@lennys26, thank you for the additional context; it helps me understand your request better. Currently, this feature is not available in our Square system. Please submit your suggestions in our Ideate Room. Our Product Team actively monitors this forum to improve our products based on valuable input like yours.

In the meantime, you might find the inventory sell-through report helpful. This report can be exported to add additional data and can be accessed directly from your Square Dashboard.
