I'm baffled. I've had two sales that I know of (but multiple missing items from my inventory) not show up in daily transactions. What is happening? I ring them up, they tap to pay, it says "Sale Completed" on my end, the customer walks out with the product, and then there's no record of it ever happening. I'm thinking this is where all my lost inventory is going but why??? When happened to notice two months ago, I thought it might be because it asked for a signature and the customer and I missed it but yesterday it gave me a completed message. Anybody give some insight and a solution?

I can not give you an answer because I do not know exactly what you are doing.

It sounds as if the transaction has been completed then disappears,

My suggestion is after each payment print out a 2nd receipt for your records.

The printed receipt would show Type of card and last 4 of the card used
How the payment was made Countactless for example
Receipt code to call support on why this disappeard from transactions
Authorization Code
All this would be needed to trace the transaction
Along with the above would also be the amount that was charged or paid.
Also turn on Automatic receipts, this way if customer does not want it you can throw it in a bucket to look up if a transaction is lost.

This way you would have a Transaction ID to be able to give Square if the transaction vanishes from your records. The other thing could be that missing inventory could be just retail theft. This still does not explain missing transactions.

I'm just having this happen to me today. I do not have a printer so the sales receipt option would not work for me.. Everything was working perfectly until 1pm then even though I'm ringing up sales and getting the notification the sale is complete, the transaction is not showing and the inventory count is not being adjusted.

I've never had any issues. Now I processed a cash sale thinking I missed it (first sale that didn't show) and I can't "refund" because the transaction is missing. I'm stumped.

It worries me because I had an error that said check transactions to see if completed…but nothing is there

Me too, my last transaction showing online is at 1:09 EST. But I’ve had several sales since then..

Having the same issue. Transaction processed and completed through at my event, but the transaction doesn't show. No printer to print my own receipt as it's the card scanner through an iPhone.

My sister and I are both having the same issue at our shops, today, October 12th. I hope Square can fix this issue quickly.

Same. Transactions are saying complete after payment is taken, but not showing in the daily report. No record of any sake I’ve had today. What is going on!?

I am having the same issue that started about an hour ago. We’ve had record sales within that time & nothing is showing up, I’m getting stressed that none are showing up. The checkout process was normal & said transactions were completed, but it’s not showing anything, even in the sales report

this happened once before to us -- it went on for a few hours and I "think" all our sales (a few hundred) ended up getting logged accurately before the end of the day!

We have the same issues, transactions going through but not showing up in either reports or transactions. Not even cash sales are being recorded.
