How to Enable the Review Sale Button before charging customer

Hello, I cannot figure out how to add a 'Review Sale' button on my Square POS screen. I need to have this in order to apply a discount to the total sale. I have toggled off the 'Skip Review Sale' and it is still not showing. Please help?

Hey there @GreeleyGrove. Sorry, I’m confused. You can add a discount to a sale at any time. All you need to do is locate and apply the discount to the current cart. Square does not have a review sale button on their POS because they do not need one, really.

Also, “Skip Review Sale” just skips the step of showing the customer a transactions details for them to review before processing their payment. That is its only purpose.

Can you be more specific about why the normal process of applying a discount to a sale on your POS doesn’t suffice?

I can't figure out how to apply a discount to a total sale. I know how to add discounts to specific items/categories but not to the total sale amount after items are scanned.

Once I get to this part of the transaction, there doesn't appear to be an option to do a percent off discount on the total before I choose 'Charge.' I can click on each item and discount each one individually. but not the whole sale.

@GreeleyGrove Ah. Ok. Assuming you are using the Standard Square POS, click on “Actions” at the top, then select the Discounts button. You’ll get a list of all of your available discounts to choose from.

Ok. Correction. I did not know until you provided the screen shot that you were using the Retail POS App. In this case, things are a little more complicated. You’ll need to add a discounts button to your POS grid. You have a few options about adding only one discount to the grid or adding a link to all discounts. But you need this in order to add discount to a transaction on the Retail POS.

The path for that is to click the Edit button at the top, click + on an open block, select Action, then select Discounts.

Ok. So, to repeat, you need to add a Discount button to your Retail POS grid. To do this, edit your grid by clicking the Edit button at the top. Find an empty slot, then select Action followed by Discounts. This will add a button to your grid that can be used to select the discount to apply to the transaction.
