&lt;LI&gt;The past year I've been forced to buy 6 different card readers due to them stop working randomly. I do weekly expos don't need the register just the small chip reader. But they keep failing so I to run to local retailers to buy replacement for the day. So square doesn't warranty will not cover them bought from Walmart.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Is clover better option for hardware support?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/LI&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.squareup.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/715777"&gt;@Cfexotics&lt;/a&gt;. &amp;nbsp;Square only handles warranty claims for hardware purchased through their online store, which is the industry standard. &amp;nbsp;However, since Walmart purchased those readers directly from Square, Walmart is covered by the warranty. &amp;nbsp;So, all you should have to do is return the product to Walmart for an exchange. &amp;nbsp;They will work with Square to return it and get THEIR replacement. &amp;nbsp;If Walmart is not honoring that, this is their problem, not Square’s. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The bigger question here is do you do any troubleshooting of the device before returning it? &amp;nbsp;Do you do a hardware reset? &amp;nbsp;Do you do anything, or do you just assume that the hardware has failed? &amp;nbsp;I’ve used the same reader for years now, and most sellers have. &amp;nbsp;Your experience is very odd indeed. &amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/8299-troubleshoot-bluetooth-pairing-on-square-reader" target="_self"&gt;Here’s a link&lt;/A&gt; to the troubleshooting document.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Lastly, I assume you already know that since this is a Square seller board, we can not offer you advice about other POS systems. &amp;nbsp;You’ll have to ask people you know who use Clover, or go to their community board.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Good luck.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
