need help managing customer jobs using square customers

We own a garden center and landscaping business. Currently we use square pos for our garden center side and square invoices for our landscaping side. It works well. I want to take it to the next step. I use excel to manage all the jobs we have going and the various stages they are in (ready to do, has estimate but not accepted, done but needs billed, etc). I'm hoping to find an app that will pull the customers in square and basically be a glorified spreadsheet where we can manage the different stages our customers are in for jobs. Excel is really hard to use on the phone so I'm hoping an app will make it easier for my guys on the road and not at a computer. Is there such a thing?

Hi there @kkirk.. I went to the Square App Marketplace and searched for "project management." I got one promising hit, called Knowify. Obviously, you'd need to check that out, and thankfully they do have a 14-day trial period. Also, if that doesn't work for you, you can search the Marketplace using other search terms. I just used the first one that seemed to be close to what you needed. Good luck.

Thank you, I did a free trial of it but unless I'm missing something it looks like you can only use square with it to make payments.

You probably aren’t missing anything. Obviously I didn’t drill down into the nitty gritty of it. So now I know that it is a project management app that integrates with square payments only, and not with customer info. That seems short-sighted.

Another thought, @kkirk.. And if you have already looked into this, my apologies. I'm throwing spaghetti at the wall seeing if anything sticks. LOL. Anyway, have you looked at Square's Project Management functionality? Since I'm not that sort of Square Seller, I can't say for certain if it has all the bells and whistles that you need, but it should be a step up from using Excel for this purpose.

It can be found on your web dashboard > Payments & Invoices > Invoices > Projects. Also, here's a link to the getting started help document.
