about a month ago my square chip reader with the stripe thing too that plugs into the phone started to not hold a charge. I hobbled by but then my phone died and had to get a new one. The store said the battery probably died on my phone but not sure. So I got a new phone and the reader still won't hold a charge so I Had one that I hadn't used yet ever and that did not hold a charge and then ordered a new one and that does not hold a charge either.

I am contacting support because this is a big issue. I don't like using the contactless reader that reads chips only because it is clunky to hold and often requires sliding the card anyways.

I am going back to the plain stripe reader without the chip but isn't that a security issue?

My old phone was a Samsung 6 active and the new phone is Samsung A6 if that matters.
