Currently, we're unable to edit the legal name you used to activate your Square account. To update it, you’ll need to create a new Square account with your updated legal name. The good news is that you can still use the same EIN and bank account when creating the new account.

A couple of things to keep in mind:

The legal name on your account isn’t visible to customers, but it does play a role in verifying your identity.
You won’t be able to use the same email address as your current account for the new setup.

For a smoother experience, we suggest giving Support a call once your new account is ready, and they can help finalize the process.

That's not true about customers cannot see your legal name. If I use Square Bookings, when it sends someone the appointment confirmation it shows my full legal name. Which is stupid because I didn't even provide that name to you, you automatically included my full middle name when you had me scan my driver's license during registration.

Did you try changing the name on your Recipt?

the leagal name that can not be changed is for the Ownership of the business connected by the SS# or the EIN#. When ownership changes these numbers need to match the Registered owner. My Business Name is shown own Receipts of all kinds and even when Booking a Candle Class, but my Legal name is listed as Owner of my Business on this page :
