Last November Square sent out emails stating you can no longer charge a service charge. This is not Squares decision, it was made by the credit card companies and Square has to follow their rules.&nbsp;</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>This is the statement from Square.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P><STRONG>Surcharging not supported</STRONG><BR />Because payment networks recently updated their rules around credit card surcharging, Square cannot support surcharging at this time, and you cannot use the service charge feature to add a credit card surcharge. Surcharging is not permitted on debit cards, prepaid cards, or Afterpay transactions.
