Hi I tried every possible way to make the book button on my Instagram business account and I can’t.

Square says you can post a "book" button on your business Instagram profile, but what I have read online says that Instagram is not set up with Square. Does anyone know how to do this?? HELP!

Hello @thelashbabe904! Square Appointments does integrate with Instragram now! Follow the steps below to add the Book button from your Instagram business profile.

First of all make sure you have:

A business profile on Instagram.
Enabled your Appointments online booking site.

Then, from Instagram:

Go to your business profile on Instagram > tap Edit Profile.
Click Business Information > Contact Options.
Tap Add an action button > select “Appointments by Square.”
Enter your Square Appointments online booking site URL. (You can find your URL from your Appointments dashboard or from the Appointments app: tap Settings > Online Booking > Square Booking Site.)

I’ve done all of that but for some reason, the “add an action” button does not show up on mine! 😫 under Contact Options all I have is email, number, address.

Hmm, that's strange @thelashbabe904. Just to confirm - do you have a business profile on Instagram (the steps to switch are here)?

So strange! Yes it’s a business profile, I’ve attached a Facebook page to it, I’ve added my address and everything! 😔

Thanks for double checking that for me! I just checked with our Appointments team and this is an issue that Instagram is working on as we speak - I'm so sorry for the trouble and confusion it has caused!

I'll post here again when this has been resolved. (I anticipate it'll take 24-48 hours but I can't make any guarantees yet!) Thanks for your patience in the meantime.

I can't get the book button to show up in my instagram business page. I even managed to get it to work on a friend's business page, but it just wont work on mine. Any help is appreciated.

Hi @mgomez1 and welcome to the Community!

I moved your post to this thread about adding a button for your Instagram page.

You do have to have a business page in order for it to work so you'd have to switch your Instagram to a business page.

my account is a business profile. It still doesn’t go through. I even had a friend change their page to a business account and try out the link and the book now button showed up. I’m not sure if something is wrong with my page?

@mgomez1 That is really strange.

Have you double checked Helen's answer above on the steps to linking it to make sure all those were followed?

If so, it might be best to contact our Support Team directly and speak to an Appointments specialist to make sure we don't need to file a ticket for you if it's glitchy.

Anybody else having issues with Instagram not showing square as an option to create a "book now" button?

I noticed my button wasn't visible on my page anymore and went to re-add it when I ran into this issue.

Yes my IG is a business account, and yes my online booking is enabled through square.

@Helen detailed above how to make sure this is showing on your business Instagram or how to set it up.

In the future- don't hesitate to search your issue first either here in the search bar at the top or the Support Center to make sure you get your answer the quickest!

In this case, it looks like you may not be subscribed to Square Appointments yet on your account. Can you please make sure you are successfully subscribed to Appointments on Pricing and Subscriptions?

No error messages but when I go on Instagram to put contact options then where it says add an action button the square app doesn’t show up on their request.
