After a Payment is made by CC or Cash you can print a Receipt, the issue is that the Cash receipt only shows the cash received and the Credit card receipt will only show amount received by CC. No idea why 1 Receipt can not be toggled for Split payments to show all forms of payment to equal the entire amount. In your case

Total Due $100.00

Cash ($60.00)

CC 1111 ($40.00)

Still remain due $0.00

or something similar

When We do split payments we would get one receipt showing $40.00 of the $100.00 paid

Then do the next part of the split showing $60.00 of the Split being paid.... but not one showing the complete amount paid.

Just posting here to say this is a major annoyance to me and a few of my customers. It is confusing to get multiple receipts and also the receipts don't tell the whole story of cash and CC. I don't know if this stems from "splitting a check" meaning 4 people go out to dinner and split a check and they would all want individual receipts. I feel splitting a check and split payment are 2 different animals and should be addressed differently with the receipt. Split payment should wait till the transaction is fully paid and then print a single receipt with the cash and CC (or whatever combo) on one receipt. That's how it works pretty much anywhere I have ever done a split.

When splitting a payment, you are only able to split by amounts and not individual items from the check.

@VanKalkerFarms and @Candlestore, I definitely understand how not having this function available could be a bit frustrating. I found an Ideate post from a while back about this same issue. It looks like there is a beta going on for "item splitting."

The issue is for Retail, not really splitting this item to that bill etc, but the Receipt not showing that the Toaotal is $100.00 for example and $25.00 was paid by cash, $ 15 by card ending in 1234, $10 paid by card ending in 5678 , and $50 paid for by Gift Card for example totalling the $100.00 For this example we would get 4 Receipts not one showing all 4 payment types. I understand that the Beta to split Items would be used more for a Resturant but my example is for people that come in and are on vacation. They get a Gift card have some Cash, and a Friend is paying X amount to help out and then the rest was on a gift card. We now get 4 receipts showing:

$25.00 paid out of $100 balance of $75

$15 paid out of $100 balance $85 remaining

$10 paid out of $100 balance $90 remaining

$50 paid out of $100 balance of $50

Nothing shows the entire balance being paid.

Why can we not get a Receipt showing:

$100 due

($25 paid Cash)

$75 remaining Due

($15 paid Card 1234)

$60 remaining

($10 paid Card 5678)

$50 Remaining

($50 paid Gift Card 9524)

$0.00 Balance due or Paid in full

ALL ON ONE RECEIPT?

I have customers that pay with Comp cards (Gift Cards from Local Resorts) plus they add their own cash or Credit card and the multiple receipts gets very confusing.

The beta test your referring to I understand that Resturants may need to Split Items but we are trying to consolidate the Receipt. We should have a Toggle switch to set Split payments to conslidate a Check or to Split by Items.

This is a huge issue for my shop as well! It's SO confusing to everyone involved, and the receipts that do print don't give me a cya feeling, it basically leaves us open to potential issues with customers. I too just want ONE receipt to print with all payments listed to show total due. We are not a restaurant, we're a normal mom/pop brick and mortar and I feel like 1 receipt is a basic request. How do we get more attention on this need?
