Can a transaction be edited for wrong payment method

I charge a service as a cash by mistake and my client wanted to pay w her credit card. So I thought I can edit the transaction but I couldn't so I decided to refunded so the service would be unpaid but for my surprise that didn't happened. My client had to go get cash and now there is no way to enter the payment.. im regretting using square for my bussiness

Transactions through Square can not be editing once they are completed. If you charged a customer using an incorrect payment method, we would recommend refunding the payment in order to balance your books, and then re-process the transaction correctly.
