I need to completely silence the beeps on the LS2208 bar code scanner. Even low frequency hurts my dog! I.e. I don't want it to beep upon start up, etc. I have lowered volume, frequency and shut off the beeps for good scans, but it still beeps when initiating on the point of sale stand.

Hello @jmccoy and thanks for your question. I do not think there is a way to turn off beeping on startup, but I think you can turn off the beep during scanning. Try printing and scanning the barcode (to disable) to see if it will turn off.

I am not sure if this will work but I found this for programming Zebra Scanners:

You Tube video showing how to program a Zebra Scanner

You can save the file and upload it any time later, I have not tried to turn off the volume completely, I just set it to LOW.

You need 123Scan utility from Zebra, you can get it here:

123scan download

I know in the Video it has volume settings for a configuration file for the Scanner.... just not sure if it works for startup.
